George is a “duck”. That’s what his wife says….ducks can do lots a things:
fly, swim, walk but do none of these things excellently well!! Except quack,
ducks do that better than any other animal. George was supposed to be a
ships radio officer in the merchant navy. He went to Maritime College in
Tasmania and diligently studied his Morse Code (and basket weaving) even got to go to sea for nine years…..best job on the ship being the “sparks” but he got replaced by a little electronic box. He spent a short period believing  he would be a pilot but ducks fly clumsy and many residents near George’s local aerodrome heaved a giant sigh of relief when George decided to stay   on the ground. Next George spent a few years as an electronics technician but broke more little electronic things than he fixed - sweet revenge. In 2002 when his son was starting kindy George went back to school too - Art school. Three years later his son was finishing his third year of primary school. He had learnt to read, write and perform integral calculus. George had a piece   of paper saying “Bachelor of Fine Art”. He is still wondering what that means, bachelor?? He’s married! Fine art????….Went on to try and become an art teacher but alas there were millions of high school art teachers waiting for work. George was one of the millions and couldn't get work because….. He was a duck! He got sick of waiting so he did a mathematics certificate. QUACK QUACK QUACK QUACK…..Just as he finished the "tortuous mathematics certificate" the gods smiled on George and he got a job as a high school art teacher....QUACK!
